An 88-year-old grandmother from New Hampshire has become quite the internet sensation after her video of her dancing to Motown tunes went viral.
Her name is Nana Ester Feole, and her fame started when she was meeting her granddaughter (Chelsey) for lunch and couldn’t help but dance to some of her old-time favorites. Her granddaughter uploaded the video below to YouTube and it quickly caught fire online, amassing over 1.4 million views.
This is one of those videos that makes you smile and want to dance around too.
Every week, Chelsey has a routine where she goes to her grandmother’s place for a lunch date. As soon as she arrives, she rolls down the car windows and blasts some classic Oldies tunes. Her grandmother, Nana Ester, can’t resist moving to the beat of her favorite jams.
Captivated by her grandmother’s charming dance steps, Chelsey quickly captured these moments on camera. Nana Ester’s endearing and spirited dance moves, especially as she descended her front porch steps, were a sight to behold.
Nana Feole became a YouTube sensation with a channel inaugurated by Chelsey in 2013. However, this wasn’t the end of Nana Feole’s online viral video career. She had five “Dancing Nana” videos on her YouTube channel that hit a whopping 8.7+ million views.
The video’s charm was undeniable, and it even grabbed the attention of Ellen Degeneres. Ellen was so taken with Nana Ester’s rhythm that she invited her to her show. There, Nana had the delightful opportunity to meet Ellen and dance her heart out for the live audience and viewers at home.

With her newfound viral fame, Ester was more eager than ever to keep dancing, and Chelsey was there to document more of their delightful lunchtime dance escapades. Nana Ester Feole’s joyous spirit made her an online phenomenon, and Chelsey honored that by creating an Official Facebook Fan Club for her.
Sadly, Nana Ester Feole passed away in August of 2016. Chelsey shared the heartbreaking update to all of her fans on her Facebook page:
