Princess Lilibet has only met her grandfather King Charles once during the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, but the grandpa made sure to send her a birthday gift
Princess Lilibet celebrated her third birthday today with a special gift from King Charles, according to royal expert Tom Quinn.
Over the weekend, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle hosted a big birthday bash at their home in Montecito, California. They invited close friends to the celebration, but members of the Royal Family were notably absent due to the ongoing family feud.
Despite not being on the guest list, King Charles made sure to mark the occasion. He sent a gift along with a heartfelt message to his granddaughter. Quinn revealed, “King Charles had no intention of completely ignoring Lilibet’s birthday, so he has sent a gift along with a message.”
The monarch is holding onto a special gift for when the family feud ends. “He gave Prince George a beautiful hand-made wooden swing with George’s name carved on it and plans to give something similar to Lilibet, but not this year. Not until the family feud dies down,” Quinn explained who also noted that the king has been limited in his choices as Meghan has put clear boundaries on what can be acceptable as a gift.
On the other hand, celebrities like Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom were in attendance at Lilibet’s party. Harry and Meghan opted for a lavish pre-birthday bash, avoiding overly expensive presents but filling their California mansion with famous faces. Perry and Bloom, along with their daughter Daisy, who is just a few months older than Lilibet, joined the festivities.
The couple’s neighbors, including Ellen DeGeneres, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Oprah Winfrey, were also among the guests. Notably, no invitations were extended to Royal Family members. Quinn commented, “Shockingly, no invitations to Lilibet’s party were issued to members of the Royal Family.”
